Abstract

India's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) regulations and the introduction of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) occurred concurrently, offering a significant opportunity for synergistic collaboration in pursuit of a more sustainable future. These two frameworks share common areas of focus and require similar sets of activities for achievement, making them mutually reinforcing pillars in the journey toward sustainability. In the context of the Indian corporate landscape, this study aims to find out the dynamics of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and its relationship with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on their influence on financial performance, as measured by Return on Assets (ROA). The pursuit of the SDGs by 2030 in the Indian context is met with a multitude of challenges, including economic downturns, pandemics, policy volatility, social unrest, natural disasters, and intricate regional political dynamics. This paper places central emphasis on discerning the crucial roles played by CSR and the SDGs in guiding businesses towards their objectives. which in turn, contributes to advancing India's economic growth and enhancing the well-being of its society
