Abstract

This study delves into the interactions of communication in Susan Hill’s "On the Face of It" and Terence Rattigan’s "The Browning Version" using Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) as a framework for analysis. By applying META Modelling—a method that uncovers the underlying structures of language and thought—the research investigates how language influences perceptions and relationships and shapes reality in these pieces. The examination demonstrates the role of dialogue, in expressing characters feelings and vulnerabilities while underscoring the power of empathetic communication to bring about change. In the end this study connects the analysis of literature, with concepts providing new perspectives on how language mirrors and influences human experiences.
